Our Story

I founded Culture Connection Law because I was so saddened by watching good folks quit or suffer in important organizations due to a lack of communication and connection, often resulting in the organizations I love losing extremely valuable team members. These people were leaving in large part because they felt unsupported and undervalued by their leadership, a problem which could be mended with a few hard conversations about what is working and what is not working and what support looks like for that team and individual person.

Culture Connection Law was founded as a remedy, seeking to teach folks when and how to have difficult conversations and how to stay connected to each other in the midst of real feedback. These tools allow teams to feel safe, secure, and prepared for the tough times. And, establishing these skills ahead of time means that, when the inevitable challenges do arise, our teams are prepared and folks are less likely to jump ship.

I believe folks deserve to feel connected and supported by their teams. And, when folks are safe, they make better, more creative decisions for the organizations supporting our community. Bottom line: I am here for you, to teach you how to be there for the folks you love and lead.

Culture Connection Law Core Values

  • We are committed to putting the truth on the table, problem solving in reality as it is, and telling our truth in alignment with these Core Values.

  • We are committed to remaining in alignment with ourselves, with each other, and with our partners and clients. We maintain connection by releasing perfectionism and embracing open, honest, and kind feedback and communication. We always reach out when we feel or sense sadness, anger, or resentment.

  • We know our boundaries and we communicate and hold our boundaries with authentic kindness. We honor that we are human first by respecting the limitations of our bodies and brains and by reaching out for support when we need it. We maintain a work life balance and take space and time away from work.

  • We understand that there is no justice without diversity, equity, inclusion and true belonging for ALL. We understand that systems of power with power over models create an unsafe and inequitable power structure, providing some with easy access and others with extremely limited and/or no access. We create accessibility and inclusion by actively questioning our own internal bias, acting to amend and adjust our behavior, and remaining open to feedback.

  • We follow up and follow through. We do what we say we will do; and, when that is impossible, we take accountability by clearly communicating the why and working toward a resolution.
